Secret Security Samsung SmartThings Snap Screenshot Selfie - IMRAN®

Secret Security Samsung SmartThings Snap Screenshot Selfie - IMRAN®

This screenshot, taken from a livestream of a decade-old Samsung SmartThings security camera at my Long Island, New York home, highlights the surprising longevity of security camera technology. Even after 10+ years, the image maintains impressive clarity and rich colors—without any edits!

At the forefront is my pool table, casually draped with a red shirt, adding a lived-in feel to the scene. Positioned behind it, my large surround speakers frame two recliners, including a luxurious Panasonic massage chair—perfect for sinking into deep relaxation. To the left, the entryway stands as an inviting threshold, while the far-right area serves as both a sitting space and a hub for musical composition.

This image reminds me how far digital cameras have come—from the early days of photography to today’s compact yet powerful devices that achieve similar quality for $30 or less.

Throwing The Book (Of Opinions) On "Will Print Media Survive?" - IMRAN™

Throwing The Book (Of Opinions) On "Will Print Media Survive?" - IMRAN™
This is one of the questions I have seen asked for my literally 3 decades spent living in America (this coming week!) The irony of this question is that the words print and media have some overlap. Media, as in the industry encompassing information, news, knowledge, views, commentary, and print, a medium of distributing that content.
So, if the question is, will the “media” (industry) survive…… indeed, the answer is Yes, the real problem of fascism style labeling of real news as fake news and real(ly) fake news as (alternative?) facts notwithstanding, Will PRINT as a medium used by the media (industry) survive, is a more complex one. In the long run (when we are all dead anyway, as John Maynard Keynes said and wrote, ironically, in print, a long time ago), the pace of innovation, the sheer volume of information and knowledge, the staggering number of content types, content creators, and content creators, will make it practically impossible to rely on printed paper as the mainstream mass-use medium.
There are not enough trees, one could say, to sustain that volume of paper production, without destroying the remaining forests of the planet, regardless of how much reforestation gets done. Also, if we look at the real long run, when increasing numbers of us will be able to explore space travel, there is just no practical sense in bringing printing equipment on space rockets and even spaceships, much less trees and other plant forms to produce traditional paper. Plus, the amount of information we are already used to having at our fingertips just would not translate into printed paper as a practical means to carry it around.
Having said that, however, I will also say this, or as another great mind said last century or even earlier, predictions of the death of paper/print are exaggerated. When computers came on the scene, with dot matrix, inkjet, laser and color laser printers soon following, the actual production and consumption of paper grew massively.
That rate of growth, especially in a planet starved of space to store the paper, or grow the raw materials for paper, plus a species (not)hell-bound on finding new places to live on in space, will not be sustainable. So, I see traditional, especially high quality paper based printing becoming a growth industry, where the vanity of having a hardbound book rather than just being the author of an eBook, will ensure its survival for a while, much like vinyl albums are still around despite higher resolution audio sampling of today’s digital music libraries fitting in our back pockets.
Another interesting twist may be the very notion of paper to be printed on. If the current pace of innovation continues, what is to keep us from not having literally infinite printed books, where the actual electronic screens become so thin and so embedded into plant and forest based paper pages, that we could still be holding a paper book or two in hand, where flipping pages gives the tactile experience we are used to for millennia, but with all the words of the universe surrounding us in an invisible omnipresent network.

Truth Is Black And White, Justice And (Statute Of) Liberty For All - IMRAN™

This is a screen capture of a very low resolution video I shot with a 10 years old camera while flying over Manhattan very recently. It was cloudy, it was dusk, and it was a gloomy day overall. The plane window was not that clear either and this was just a video clip I accidentally recorded for 1 second while trying to take a still photo. But, this shot was worth extracting and sharing. The simple truth is clear as Black and White, even at the gloomiest of times. Justice and (Statute Of) Liberty are for all humankind.

Word To The Wise! A Picture IS Worth A Thousand Words! - IMRAN™

I was delighted to see this cool & powerful Microsoft feature in Office 365. Now you can search for words in your images in #Microsoft #Office365!

With such algorithms and more & more Artificial Intelligence in use in all types of software, I predict the end of differentiating between text and image files, with it all being seamless information available to us and our tools.

Branding, Marketing And User Experiences - IMRAN™

Here’s an interesting post from McKinsey & Company at http://gtnr.it/2yKRmyg
Great brands are built by frequent customer delight at consistently great customer experiences.
Most brands today offer average or even sometimes lousy user experiences, but try to make up for it with greater marketing spend.
There’s only so far even great marketing can take a brand, IMHO.

Farewell Jerry Lewis - IMRAN™

Jerry Lewis, 91, passes away. RIP.

His movies were mostly slapstick and almost always had the same formula, but as kids we loved watching his goofball comedy movies on TV in Pakistan.

What movies of his do you remember and enjoyed the most?

His best role came later in life with charity work.

When Being Boiled Alive Is Not Punishment Enough - IMRAN™

I am sickened reading about this triple-murderer. Even a simple death penalty would not have been enough for his first murder!

Why was this man not fried for the first murder? Then he was let out and allowed to kill again...! Why was he not BOILED alive for that? But he was then let out AGAIN to murder AGAIN?

I generally do not support violence. But in this case I would not shed a single tear if the victims' loved ones seek vengeance on the parole boards and judges who let this son of Satan continue living and being set free so he could continue taking lives.

Using CVS App A Prescription For Invasion Of Privacy - IMRAN™

Why is CVS Pharmacy trying to track #consumers' #location even when we are not actually using their App? Sleazy invasion of #privacy and a #security risk! Shameful #UX design decision. Maybe the Federal Trade Commission can find out.

Spectrum's DialUp Age Service & Stone Age CRM - IMRAN™

Spectrum's DialUp Age Service & Stone Age CRM - IMRAN™

I had to tweet about the "Moronic #UXdesign POS #UserExperience Spectrum. Dead service.Stupid phone menu identifies my account from callerID but doesn't know what service I have!"

Even a caveman era CRM system would know I do not get any shitty service from Spectrum other than Internet, which is that lame asymmetrical 200/20.

Yet, their retarded CustomerService number (20 minutes to get a rep) lists through their various services I do NOT have to ask if I am calling about those. Retards.

Spectrum is shitty enough to make me give sleazy Frontier another chance for the symmetric speeds.

Get Passing Lane Hog Drivers Off The Road - IMRAN™

One of my pet peeves on the highway is the morons and deliberate jerks who have some genetic need to hog the passing lane even if the middle and first lane are empty for miles.

This phenomenon is common in all states but Florida literally has the worst cases. And in Florida the most egregious cases I have seen have been on I-4 near Orlando. With literally SIX LANES and no traffic I have seen a dozen cars late at night, heading west on I-4, each one in the passing lane and not moving over for traffic coming up behind and even signaling.

The Tampa Bay Times had an article about how a lack of highway patrol staff is reducing the number of speeding tickets getting issued. Yes, irresponsible speeding can cause loss of control but the worst hazard are the brain dead jerks who hog the passing lane.

IMHO, In My Humble Opinion,
1. A responsible driver driving even 20 mph over the posted limit in a straight line in the middle lane on a HIGHWAY with little traffic is not the problem, but is still more likely to get ticketed.
2. The brain-dead or fat-necked or lazy slob or deliberate jerk who does not move over from the PASSING Lane deliberately forcing people to go around on the wrong side is MORE likely to cause
- a) road rage and
- b) collisions of other cars) but can go driving like that for miles, but no one pulls them over. I literally have seen only ONE case of it. (Read that at the end below).
3. If the fewer officers available targeted these types of callous and obnoxious drivers with higher fines, it will have many benefits.
- a) revenue for the state
- b) target the real menace on the roads who endanger others
- c) make people actually use turn signals AND stay in appropriate lanes
d) create fewer hazardous situations
e) create fewer road rage reasons, and
f) will automatically be a deterrent even to the speeding drivers as it is human nature to behave when seeing someone else pulled over.

So, that one time I saw someone get puled over. A total jerk in a huge black SUV who was not letting me pass on I-4 near Tampa. He did not move over even when a Florida Highway Patrol car came up behind him after I moved to the next right lane. The guy did not let the cop pass either!

I never cheer any regular non-drunk driver getting pulled over for 'normal' non-aggressive speeding. But, oh, the joy, when the FHP officer had enough and blared his sirens to pull that prick over.

That LITERALLY is the ONLY case I have seen in 30 years of driving in USA. Please, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy, target the real menace on the roads, the passing lane hogs!

HappilySingle™ vs Open Marriage vs Fake Monogamy - IMRAN™

I'm happily single, never married. I would consider marrying the person I fall in love with deep enough but do not feel the need to be married for the sake of being married.

I also joke that I am waiting to find my fourth beloved so that I can marry all four of my future wives together. (Muslim joke).

The reason I created the HappilySingle™ brand was to ridicule the fallacy of society's "Happily Married" marketing of an obsolete failure of an institution, marriage. 50% end in divorce as we all know.

I believe at least 25% others are having affairs. Another 12.5% are staying together unhappily for the sake of the kids, or out of fear, or because divorce would be economically impractical.

In my opinion, maybe 12.5% couples can fall under the happily married umbrella.

I would ask the married ones among you which category you fall under but for obvious reasons no one would be able to speak the full truth.

I do have dear friends here who are in beautiful open marriages. So, when I saw this article in The New York Times, I had to share it here and ask your opinions on all of these...the institution of marriage versus non-traditional marriages, non-marriage relationships (that often last longer than real marriages) or just staying Happily Single!

Tell me what you all think.

(Still The) World's Most Powerful Medium! - IMRAN™

#TelevisionIn4Words is a trending hashtag on Twitter right now. I contributed to that stream with:
"World's Most Powerful Medium!"
Yes, better believe it, it still is.
You get, as I tagged the post, "#media #news #entertainment #opinion #history #music #comedy #politics #sports #weather" all in one 'box'!
How many heads of state, or sports champions, or politicians, or businessmen, refuse to be interviewed for TV and say, "No, no TV interviews, tweet me or ask me on FaceBook." ?
Much that many of us complain about how TV quality sucks these days, very few spend hours daily watching TV reruns from the 'good old days'. If anything, more and more global citizens are now getting and experiencing the power of television.
Its influence will get even greater as even greater network bandwidth and Internet technology takes global TV to every corner where traditional TV antenna broadcasts could not reach.
And, news flash for those who claim that TV is dead. When you watch video programming, dramas, sports, music, and entertainment on your iPad or smartphone, you are still watching 'television' programming, even if you are not sitting in front of a television set.
Just because the shape and size of the screen change, it does not mean the medium has died.
Stay tuned... television imagery may become holographic or directly tuned into our heads one day in the future, but TV is here to stay. In many ways, it is up to the television industry on how much of the best is still to come.
What do you think?

Penny For Your Thoughts But Not Your Services - IMRAN™

Some photographer posted in a FaceBook group about a model hurting their feelings by saying the photos they took (including location, hair, makeup) weren't worth more than $10 each. I think a dozen people commented on that post.

As I clicked to post my response on the original post it disappeared. Maybe the original poster deleted their post. I'm just sharing my "comment" here for everyone, as there will always be unappreciative and ungrateful clients in every field.

I wrote: "Most people do not appreciate intangible expertise or subtle specialization or soft services nor put real monetary value on it.

They'll pay a plumber $200 for fixing a $100 leaky toilet but will have a heart attack paying $300 for cloud & technology or management consulting advice they hit you up for regarding their million dollar business.

I haven't seen the work the original poster did but assuming it was well done I'd say, go with the attitude, "Yes, the photos were worth just $10 each because the ungrateful model wasn't worth more. 😋"

Driverless Cars Better Than Brainless Drivers - IMRAN™

Michigan is about to approve cars without drivers or steering wheels on its roads. Some people will worry. But a driverless car is better than cars with moron drivers, especially the ones I see everywhere in the USA, but especially in Florida or in NY on the Long Island Expressway.

You know the types of drivers I am talking about. The ones with a genetic inability to turn their fat neck to look over their shoulder, the ones without a brain capable of processing moving over from the fast/passing lane, or the ones without a decent upbringing to know now to be @a$$#0¬3$ on the road.

At least driverless cars will signal when turning or changing lanes, not hog the passing lane like a fat stupid obnoxious pig, or drift between lanes while texting. And I am being polite. LOL

That's Not A Phone Ringer, It's The Death Bell For WindowsPhone - IMRAN™

"Microsoft Windows smartphone sales collapse. Down 76%!" reports Computerworld.

That's not a WindowsPhone ringing but death bell of Microsoft's phone platform strategy that you do not hear, because when was the last time you heard a WindowsPhone ring except for the expensive product placements on TV shows and in movies?

It was a mere $8-10 BILLION write off which destroyed the lives of tens of thousands of Nokia employees. Please stand by for a similar LinkedIn write off in 3 years for about $30 Billion. They could have cured Cancer or built 1000 hospitals worldwide with that money!

Imagine me, a MacOS lover from Day 1, working at Microsoft (in strategy / cloud / consulting though) for 3 years. Ironically, I was already sick and tired of the 200 years old iOS UI (user interface) that has STILL not changed since it launched, and the UXdesign (user experience getting worse) from Apple in EVERY area.

So I was actually happy to see Microsoft's WindowsPhone interface as one of the few things they did not steal from, I mean, copy from Apple, and something actually better. But, the problem was not the technology. It was, and likely still is, the people of Microsoft.

It is a company with MANY smart people who made so many stupid decisions again and again, but never learned. A most senior leader liked some ideas I had to build a WindowsPhone ecosystem. He connected me with an Indian guy (not Satya Nadella) who was the VP responsible for WindowsPhone app and ecosystem development. I wish I remembered his name now.

On each proposed step I discussed, he laughed and said, "We are Microsoft, We do not need to do that." And, "Developers are begging us to develop on our platform."

I wish I could have recorded that conversation for entertainment value alone.

You Know What Rises To The Top, In USA Elections & Pakistan Politics - IMRAN™

What!? HOW DARE THEY DO THAT?! A shameful image to see on Pakistan's Independence Day, August 14! People of Pakistan ...

Why are pictures of the founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and respected Miss. Fatima Jinnah, up SO HIGH?

They are almost too close to the greatest leaders on the Planet (Lollywood) that no one will remember in 50 years.

//end sarcasm

Send 1000 Jootian (rotting shoes) to the ass licking chamchas (sycophants) who put up the posters this way. Thanks to Shams Bin Niaz for the photo.

For my non-Pakistani friends, this is like political parties here putting up posters of Donald Trump/Mike Pence or Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine ABOVE posters of George Washington/Abraham Lincoln along city streets on the 4th of July.

Sadly, we are not far from that situation here in USA either. A few years ago Fox News had actually done a segment on George W. Bush (Yes, the moron retard Iraq War one) being THE GREATEST PRESIDENT EVER...

Seriously. It seems Pakistan has also reached that level of sickening political shamelessness. Or, wait.... is it the other way around?

Wide Roads, Narrow Humanity, In China - IMRAN™

Q. Why are Chinese roads built so wide?

A. To leave room for traffic to get around dead accident victims laying there.

Help a dying man?.. They have such hectic social lives these Chinese running/driving by. "Ain't nobody got time for that...."

This video shows that the only thing cheaper than the Chinese junk we buy here is Chinese lives in China . Shame.

Even in countries with frequent terror attacks like Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., where terrorists detonate additional bombs to kill the innocent people gathering to help bombing victims, decent people still rush to help.

Shame on every single person that ignored this victim and kept on going.

What do you think?
