Magnificent Fire Island, Long Island, New York, Atlantic Ocean, Winter Sunset - IMRAN®
Magnificent Fire Island, Long Island, New York, Atlantic Ocean, Winter Sunset - IMRAN®
During a winter visit to my blessed Long Island, New York home for Valentine's Day weekend with my then-girlfriend, I captured this magnificent sunset on Fire Island at Smith Point Beach Park. The image was stitched from multiple handheld iPhone photos, so some stitching artifacts are visible on the right side.

Red Hot Memories Of Heavenly Blue Views At Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Bahamas, Caribbean, At Romantic Getaway Spot - IMRAN™
Red Hot Memories Of Heavenly Blue Views At Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Bahamas, Caribbean, At Romantic Getaway Spot - IMRAN™ (PG13 text)
A low-resolution video taken in 2007, this has poor quality compared to what we see these days even in cell phones. But it is still enough to show the heavenly views of the Caribbean facing East at the beautiful Coral Sands resort in Eleuthera, Bahamas. The sand there is literally powder soft and pure pink.
One of my then beloved girlfriends loved to travel as much as I did. This was one of the great trips she took us on.
Of the primary colors RGB (red-green-blue), Red was the one that seemed totally absent in this scene. But that is where I come in to add color to life and love.
We made some remarkable red hot deep and intense memories as I had her desire more and more at this spot. The balcony wide open to see and to the sea, glass windows all around, sounds of other couples nearby, the ordinary balcony chair in that instant became a precious loveseat.
A throne for a precious princess to ride to glory oblivious to what public mores against public amore might demand. And that was when the purest passionate pleasures came in unison...
I still recall seeing the blue sea and blue sky in her penetrating blue eyes as she melted in a puddle of desire. What a magical moment, leaving our mark wherever we went and came.
It is interesting how people come and go from our lives. That girl is an ex-GF for more than a dozen years but the memories are always to be cherished for a lifetime. Ironically, this is also where I met and became friends with Suzette who is here on FB and a beloved beautiful friend even today.

Osprey Soars Over Stunning Sunset Tampa Bay Florida - IMRAN™
A gorgeous moment in time as an osprey, ready to dive in, hovers over its prey in Tampa Bay waters just as the bay gets ready to devour the sun ready to dive into the oceans of time.

Ocean Of Tears, Memories Of Beloved Parents - Miami, Florida Sunset - IMRAN™
10 Years Tribute Post: "Nearly 30 days after the loss of my father, and a few days shy of the anniversary of my mother's untimely death at age 51, the waters of Biscayne Bay and Atlantic Ocean, with a blood red sunset, cried an ocean of hot tears in my soul."

Blessed Castle By The Sea Of Love Under The Sky Of Bright Passions & Dark Desires - IMRAN™

The magic of dusk, when moist pink passions lusciously innocently but tremblingly knowingly embrace the deep dark blue depths of desires and surrender with bold blind total submission to their chosen master, lover, and more.... gasping, “Take us, in every sense, in every way, and bend us as you will, to your every will, every wish, every command, every moment of night and day, and fill us, with every thrust, with every push, with every pull, with waves of love from your sea of love, that quench our thirsts in shared moments of ecstasy, to be replaced by our hungers for more, and more, and more. Let us come, to, with, and for you, our master, lover, ....and more!” ❤️❤️💙❤️❤️

The Young Woman And The Sea - IMRAN™
It was thus ironic how quickly it came to mind when I met an old young beautiful intimate beloved friend, from recent years past, for an unexpected dinner and evening together. I had been planning to go to Smith Point beach to catch what was sure to be a beautiful sunset and dusk, when we connected on the phone after a very long time. So, we ended up going there together, a place we had last been several years ago, together, and with another love past and gone.
She, always patient, loving and caring, waited while I captured photos of the setting sun with my new Apple iPhone 4S. Not knowing I was watching her, she stood atop the forlorn log that had made the sands of Long Island its temporary home. And, I saw a moment that was as magical as it was timeless.
The Young Woman And The Sea, I said to myself as I clicked.
The wide angle view from an external lens I was testing on my new iPhone, the moment, the lighting, the log, the way the sun reflected on her golden tresses from the right, and the incredible way the tide had made the sand flow in the shape of angel wings around the log she stood on, I saw a timeless and absolutely unique moment in time…. a surreal almost masterpiece-like painting of life, accidentally brought to life, etched into memory, and now captured for the ages, by a mere cell phone camera.
I quickly snapped this photo and, later, at home, as I imported it into iPhoto, something struck a powerful chord....
We had been going through amazingly tumultuous and yet interesting and wonderful times in our respective lives when we last met and shared many wonderful experiences. And, as time, life, circumstances, people, events and fate dealt their hands, their blows, their stabs, it meant we continued our separate, still event-filled, surreal, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, journeys through life, until we got together again tonight. As these thoughts passed through my mind, in my ears Glenn's voice rang out truly, how "So much has happened, but nothing has changed".
As I pasted the lyrics to that wonderful song below for your pleasure, I could not resist but tweak some of the words (I hope the Text shows how I replaced some of the words {strike-through font} with ones even more suited to this moment {shown in bold}).
As you, gentle readers, dear friends, lovers old, new and future, read these words, just know, your most difficult, arduous, lonely journey is shared with me. It is shared by those you love, loved and will love. We may not be on the same part of the road, or hitting the same bumps at the same exact time, but, sooner or later, our paths will cross. I will take your hand, and be there for you. I promise.
One day, you will look back on the cold stormy nights and know that you did make it... because….
You Belong To The City

Solar Fire, Solo Flier - IMRAN™
Steve Jobs, visionary, genius. Thank you for everything. RIP.
Hat Trick +2 ! My 5th flickr Explore in a row.
My 45th Photo to make it in Flickr Explore on October 5, 2011!
Smith Point County Park Bridge is a place which has many special meanings to me.
It is a place I visited with my beloved Father when he was in the USA in 1996, at a time of great difficulties for me.
Over the 15 years since, it is a place I visit by road like others do. It is a site I have boated, sailed and yachted by, on both the bay and the ocean sides. It is a sight I have flown over, spreading my wings over its beaches and near-by islets, to practice flight manuevers. Its parking lot offers a level of comfort -- as an potential emergency landing spot (assuming it is not crowded), especially during fall and winter flying on the ocean.
Walking on it, I have felt its sand in my toes, and I've marched across the asphalt to walk up to the bridge to capture some of my most spectacular sunset photographs.
This was not a particular clear or bright, day, much like the murky uncertainty that surrounds us as individuals and even as nations and a human race. It was not even an interestingly cloudy day, when the infinite variations of cloud shapes always ensure differing shades of red.
But, as the golden sun set, as it set the sky alight with a solar fire, I got what I was waiting for.
An image, a moment in time, a symbolic alignment of man, machine, planet, and the universe with the stages in life I have faced in the last 3 years….
A solo flier appeared when all other birds had given up and gone home. A natural aviator, silently, hopefully, bound for its destination unknown, knowing somewhere along the way it would find its mate, and its dreams would come true…. even as a seemingly endless night appeared before it.
And, even as I was posting this picture, little did I know that someone of far greater significance would be flying away, forever, within hours of my posting this photo. Steve Jobs, RIP.
A Solo Flier Against A Solar Fire.
May we all soar above our troubles and find all the joy, love, and happiness we seek, deserve and desire.

Four Horse(No)Men Of Paradise
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are characters in Biblical stories, towards the end of the New Testament compilation period. Wikipedia explains how it is an anthology of stories written at different times by different authors around 2 centuries after Christ's time. The Four Horsemen represent things like pestilence and death, so it is ironic one of most stunning photos of the world's most beautiful seascape I took was just a few miles from the above spot.
While those stories' four horsemen are not characters I'm looking forward to meeting, these four horses with no men were photographed with a pocket Nikon S1 during a beautiful trip to Harbour Island, before Christmas 2007. This was taken lounging on the beach outside the really world class hotel there, Coral Sands, at Dunmore Town, on the island of Eleuthera. This truly is one of the loveliest beaches in the world, in the heavenly islands of the Bahamas, right here on earth, in the Caribbean.
One of the horses had literally rolled himself in the soft pink talcum powder soft sands (not exaggerating, that is how soft the sand is) with the backdrop of the powder blue sky, shiny wet turquoise waters gently rolling in from the East - while the setting sun to the West, over my shoulder, cast a reddish glow on them, and drew pictures on the sand almost looking like the Batman symbol.
Structurally it was interesting how the photo got split into accurate thirds, halves, and even how accurately (though quite by chance) the horses are framed exactly within the space of the wet/dry sand line and the edge line of the white surf with turquoise sea.
Definitely a place to lounge away romantic days and gentle loving moonlit nights, and one I hope to return to one day, for more horseplay and other plays :-)

Sun Signs Out, Sets Off Home, Over Dark Daymark Outdoors
The sun signs out from a full day's work. It sets off for home and sets off a home on the water in brilliantly dark silhouette.
In time, the sun sets over a dark daymark, set in the channel, splitting the sun's reflections on the water, separating shallow water from deep, providing one more geometric and symmetric element in this imagery, this memory — electronically etched in the silicon of a memory card, eternally aligned in the magnets of a hard drive, permanently painted on the neurons of a mind dazzled by the sights it saw in a wondrous lifetime.
Stiltsville, in the channel outside Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida, is a place I have seen more spectacular marine sunsets from my yacht than any place else.
Just idling the engines, soaking in the sights of the ends of a passion filled afternoon, the juices of the day melting over the shades of dusk, I captured this with my Nikon D300. No cropping.
I saw the sign, the sun, out of the blue and into the red, and my sun sign (Gemini) made me see the duality of the moment melding time and tide flowing past and rising ahead. It made me vow, like the sun set to rise again, I too would be back, to make new memories, of another day, on another day. Amen.

PS1 No color processing, only frame & title added in Photoshop. I could have reduced highlights on the sun and lightened shadows on the house and sign but just wanted to savor it as it was.
PS2 I did notice a stunning amount of greater detail in this image the Nikon stored as a TIFF compared to the JPGs I normally save. The camera has a memory card large enough to store TIFFs in any outing. But at that time I was concerned about the iPhoto library growing too large for my MacBook Pro's hard drive. Even with 99% images as JPGs it is already over 50GB. With another 60GB for my iTunes library, pretty soon, I'd have no space left for anything else.
PS3 The horizon IS level. The water gets shallower to the left and the sky was darker to the right, making the satiny reflection appear dipping towards the left, but you will see the actual horizon is level.

(Infra)Red, Yellow, Green On A Sea Of Blue, Miami, Florida
This house in Stiltsville in Biscayne Channel, in Miami, Florida, had it's yellows stand out even more as the falling sun made the water appear surreal and shine under the bird's wings, while the sky looked very pale powder blue. Taken with the Nikon D300 DSLR from my Sea Ray Sundancer 360.

Speed(y)boat, Slow (air)ship to Miami - IMRAN™
Underway in Biscayne Bay, I was able to fire off a few shots of this shiny speedboat flying across the shimmering blue water as an equally bright and blue airship languidly circled the Miami skies over mansions and highrises, ports and parks. Nikon D300 shot, taken from my Sea Ray Sundancer 360.

Just Another Reason I Love Miami
Leaving Miami for Bahamas & US Virgin Islands 7-Day Cruise Norwegian Dawn 20080406 - 3 - IMRAN™, originally uploaded by ImranAnwar.
I know it's extremely aggravating when people expect you to speak Spanish instead of English in Miami. And, the looney drivers in Miami remind me of driving in Pakistan. But, when you see the colors of the sky and water there - it's easy to see one of the many reasons I love Miami.
