Introducing "Happy New Year, Same Old Genocide" — IMRAN®

Introducing "Happy New Year, Same Old Genocide" — IMRAN®

While the world was counting down and raising glasses on the night of December 31, 2025, I was occupied with the QUANTUM LAIR creating a different kind of New Year’s message — one that refuses to pretend everything is fine just because a calendar flipped a number, but the world did not turn a page.

So many sing to celebrate fireworks and fresh starts My heart's song is for millions who don’t get either

Few sing songs about shattered bodies, broken hearts The world could speak up, or fight — but does neither

For the people whose midnight brings no relief For the names erased, daily grief beyond belief

Innocent children living — dying — daily in fear Voices the cold world keeps choosing not to hear!

A new year means nothing if we carry the same silence into it. So I created a different kind of Happy New Year song as a reminder — and a refusal. We cannot toast to new beginnings while choosing to look away from ongoing suffering.

If you believe art should confront reality, not escape it… If you believe music can still speak truth when worlds collide and words fail… Then this is the song I made for you.

A Dog’s Life: Watchful K2 & Kennedy's Love of Dolphins, Even Through Pain - IMRAN®

A Dog’s Life: Watchful K2 & Kennedy's Love of Dolphins, Even Through Pain - IMRAN®
As I grappled with the devastating reality that my time with Kennedy was shorter than I had hoped, fate had its own plans. The news of his inoperable tumor and his struggle with basic functions left me heartbroken. I knew it was only a matter of time before his internal organs would reach a breaking point.
Yet, even in the midst of this pain, Kennedy’s spirit remained unbroken. One evening, as we stood on the dock, a heron gracefully landed atop my home. Kennedy observed it briefly but soon grew bored, leaving K2 to keep a vigilant eye on the bird—a true bird’s-eye view guardian.
But what truly brought Kennedy to life were the dolphins. The moment K2 and Kennedy heard the unmistakable sounds of a nearby dolphin, it was as if Kennedy had found his second wind. Watching him eagerly rush to see his beloved marine companions brought me a bittersweet joy. Best Dog Ever.

A Dog's Life: Dogs In Rearview Mirrors Are Closer (To Our Hearts) Than They Appear - IMRAN™

A Dog's Life: Dogs In Rearview Mirrors Are Closer (To Our Hearts) Than They Appear - IMRAN™

Kennedy, my precious German Shepherd Dog, taught me so much about life.

We all have to face the last sunset of our lives one day. We can only hope to learn from our dogs. To remain stoic and brave, to retain our dignity and smile, and be grateful for all the adventures on the roads of life we shared.

No matter how far back in the rearview mirrors of cars or memories of life our precious dogs seem, they are forever closer to our hearts than they appear, even when they are gone.

Ocean Of Tears, Memories Of Beloved Parents - Miami, Florida Sunset - IMRAN™

10 Years Tribute Post: "Nearly 30 days after the loss of my father, and a few days shy of the anniversary of my mother's untimely death at age 51, the waters of Biscayne Bay and Atlantic Ocean, with a blood red sunset, cried an ocean of hot tears in my soul."

Tiniest Technical Trouble Can Spell Random Catastrophe For A Person & Their Loved Ones - IMRAN™

I was saddened to read this breaking #news from NBC News. "One killed as Southwest Airlines' Boeing jet makes emergency landing in Philadelphia".
The cause is not yet unknown and I am no aviation accident expert, but the photos show some sort of apparent catastrophic engine failure shredding the engine and pieces of it ripping into the cabin.
I regularly fly #Southwest in and out of LaGuardia Airport so I can imagine how random this was and how it could happen to anybody.
RIP lost fellow flier that lost their life today.
I wonder if #Trump will take responsibility for this considering he claimed credit for there being no airline fatalities last year.

Sun Sets On Set Of Birds. Sun. Birds

This was taken the week of my father's passing and into the new year.

As the sun set on a lifetime of memories, of both my beloved parents gone into the night, this set of birds were soaring and savoring what remained of the time available to them, before it too passed into memories of another day, another life.

18 Years Of A Million Tears. Mother's Memory 2/2

2/2. The saddest day of my life, 18 years and a million tears ago.

I flew out of JFK the night of February 1, 1992, headed to Pakistan - where it was already 2/2/1992. I was going to see my beloved parents in Lahore. But, I was en route via Karachi. My Mom had insisted I stop there to condole the death of a relative and a friend's father there, the previous week.

The powerful PIA Boeing 747 jet engines hurtled me over the North Atlantic, erasing 600 miles per hour between my mother and me. But, there was an invisible infinite eternal distance of space and time growing silently, a cosmic chasm that no known power in the universe could shorten.

As the plane was flying towards Europe, life was flying away. As the aircraft was coming in for a landing, unknown to me, my mother's soul was taking off into the heavens beyond this world.

Landing in Karachi, I was smiling and happy, when I disembarked, clueless about what tragedy had struck me but I was unaware of. I went to the airline counter to check the status of my connecting flight to Lahore that was supposed to be for a few days later.

I was flirting with the young lady checking my reservation, asking for a nice window seat. She looked at me in a puzzled manner that I did not understand then. As she quietly typed on the keyboard my curious eye made me read a telex message on her desk, facing her.

As I read the upside down text, my breath left me, my heart stopped. I felt the hand of death clutch my heart...

"Please give priority seating...
Passenger Imran Anwar needs to be on next flight....
Has to attend Mother's funeral."

That is how I found out that my mother had died, just over 50 years old.

Instead of seeing my Mom to open the bags of gifts I was carrying for her and everyone, I would barely get home in time to carry her body for burial. Instead of her pinching my cheeks as she loved to do, all I got to do was touch her cheek one final time, as I fell on my knees next to her. She seemed just to have fallen asleep.

18 years later today, to the day, not a day goes by when I do not shed a tear for my beloved mother. Tears roll down my cheeks as I write these words, and every time I relive that moment.

Ami, I will love you forever, even after I die.
