Thought For Food: Salad Experiment & Cutting Out Soft Drinks — IMRAN®
As a steak lover, I always joke that "salad is what my food eats." Over the years, though, I've learned to appreciate my veggies. Sometimes I'll build my own mix by starting with a grocery‑store base and then adding whatever inspires me.
Today's combination: a regular salad topped with cubed chicken breast, chopped onions, bell peppers, diced dried apricots, raisins, olives, cheeses, guacamole, salsa, and a spicy dressing. I even tried adding prunes for the first time — too squishy to slice, but an interesting experiment.
And yes, that is a real‑sugar Pepsi Soda Shop can. I love the stuff, but thanks to the price gouging by food and grocery companies — with affordability clearly not a priority for the current regime — I'm done buying sodas. It's ridiculous that 12‑packs that used to cost $4–6 now routinely run around $12. That's basically the same $1‑per‑can we used to pay at a mall vending machine.
