Better Never Than Late, Better Late Than Now

The simple fact of the matter is, the Patriot Act has done little (if anything) to prevent Bin Laden or his henchmen from plotting our destruction, regardless of what country we live in or come from. Yet, our Constitution and civil rights are being shredded, every day, not by AlQaeda but by George Bin Bush.

The latest news reports say that the US Congress temporarily extended the so-called Patriot Act (what its highly un-American nature has to do with Patriotism can only be explained by some Bush-whacked fascist or neo-con) until February 3, 2006, thereby avoiding the pressure for some people to make it permanent.

This delay is a good thing. The way this Act is written or being pushed, it's Better Late Than Now, and Better Never Than Late.

One hopes there will be some serious debate on the dangers it poses to AMERICAN values, and how little it does to stop AlQaeda from killing people around the world.

I agree that Bush killing 100,000 Iraqis just to make Haliburton and Dick Cheney rich is even worse than terrorism, it is pure evil. Sharon and the Zionist Israelis dropping a 1000 lb. bomb in a civilian neighborhood HOPNG to kill one opposition leader is even more evil. BUT, by your logic, a man standing outside your home to shout insults at you is the same as him blowing up your home and killing 10 people in the neighborhood? Sorry, I can't agree.

Well,no,a person who kills innocent people is an example of the WORST kind of terrorism.

Sorry, you are wrong again in your oversimplification. One man shoots another man on the street for no reason. Another man orders a bombing of another country and innocent people die during that. Another man blows up 3000 people in one day, orders and enjoys the DELIBERATE killing of innocent civilians DAILY. They are all evil, but they are also different levels of evil. In any comparison Bin Laden and Co. are the highest level of evil on the planet today, closely followed by George Bush & Dick Cheney.
