Fun Fabulous France,Spring Sunset Shades, Paris Places Perspective (April 21, 2018) - IMRAN®
It was mid-spring in Paris, and the city was bathed in the kind of light photographers dream about. At a quarter past eight, as the sun dipped toward the horizon, I stood atop the Arc de Triomphe watching the golden hour unfold across the city.
In the foreground, the slender spire of Église Saint-François-Xavier pierced the skyline, its silhouette etched in gold against the evening sky. A quiet but commanding presence, it stood as a reminder of the city’s spiritual and architectural depth.
Just beyond it, Les Invalides gleamed, its dome catching the sunset’s last rays and glowing like polished gold. Beneath that brilliance lies Napoleon Bonaparte, but in that moment, the monument felt alive—radiating history.
Far off, the Montparnasse Tower rose above the skyline, its modern silhouette softened by the amber light. Often seen as a break from tradition, tonight it looked almost poetic—like even the future was willing to bask in the past.
And beneath me, the Arc de Triomphe itself—my perch and Paris’s proud sentinel. Built to honor those who fought for France, it offered a view that stitched centuries together in one radiant sweep. That evening, Paris didn’t just whisper its story—it sang it in gold.

Balancing Between Light and Darkness – A Stunning Sunset on Foreboding Days, Long Island, First Week of 2010 - IMRAN®
Balancing Between Light and Darkness – A Stunning Sunset on Foreboding Days, Long Island, First Week of 2010 - IMRAN®
The scars of the economic collapse lingered in the air—an unsettling hush after the storm of hardship brought by the reckless tax cuts and economic policies of George W. Bush. We face even greater dangers today, in 2025, but I remain hopeful that we will endure the latest attacks on poor people and the working class.
Though the first signs of recovery had begun in 2009, the weight of despair was still crushing, and hope felt like a distant whisper.
Yet, on that fateful evening, the heavens painted a masterpiece of resilience before my very eyes. Standing on the boardwalk at my beloved Long Island home, I captured an unedited, breathtaking sunset through the lens of my Nikon D300—an image that mirrored my own journey.
The golden sun, defiant and determined, struggled to pierce the ominous veil of swirling clouds above. Below, the marshlands—mysterious, untamed, dangerous—stood as silent witnesses to the battle between light and darkness. The day itself was unusual, with temperatures locked at a frozen equilibrium, both high and low at 34°F, refusing to budge.
In the midst of nature’s restless turmoil, I held onto faith. Even in those darkest days, I knew that light would return—not just in the sky, but in my life. And by the grace of the Almighty, brighter days did come. What followed were moments of clarity and renewal, both literally and figuratively—a reminder of the strength found in belief, perseverance, and the enduring power of hope.

Symphony Isles Holiday Lights DriveBy 3X Music Video - IMRAN™
Symphony Isles Holiday Lights DriveBy 3X Music Video - IMRAN™
I am blessed to live in Symphony Isles, a popular neighborhood in Apollo Beach, Florida. Every year the board and various committees, plus individual homeowners, do a great job of holiday decorations.
One night every year the guards open the main gates to the town and all are welcome to drive by to enjoy the lights. Even without any traffic it took me 30-minutes of driving to go past every home.
Enjoy this 3X accelerated hyper-lapse of the drive. If I made it faster, e.g. 400%, then the lights pass by too fast. Even at 3X speed it is easy to miss the detail. But if I did not speed it up, few would have the time to watch the whole thing. So, hopefully this is an optimal balance of speed and duration.
I had wanted to compose an original soundtrack to go with the video but then it may not get done for a long time. So I used one of my existing music tracks, actually one I created for drone flight at Old Inn at Little Harbor about 4 year ago. "Big Sky At Little Harbor" is the tune, and the video is pretty awesome. You will love that too.
Meanwhile, come along for a "high speed" drive (without breaking 20 mph speed limits!) with me and enjoy the sights and lights.

Incredible Inspirational Ideas Terrific Timelapse Tampa Bay Boating Beautiful Sunset Scene Shared - IMRAN™
Incredible Inspirational Ideas Terrific Timelapse Tampa Bay Boating Beautiful Sunset Scene Shared - IMRAN™ (Inspiration Words, Music Video)
I hope you enjoy this music video The horizon was a little more darkly cloudy than I would have preferred for it to be a long drawn out colors sunset and dusk. But who am I to complain when the result is still so much to be grateful for. This is a timelapse video made from literally almost 2000 individual photos taken by the Nikon D850. Each image was 25-30 MB so that would have taken forever to process. I just wanted to test how the results would be, so I actually made this from images just 5-10% of the original size.

New Moon At Golden Dusk Over Golden Gate Bridge(s) Day & Night - IMRAN™

There are so many different vantage points and so many different lighting conditions to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. I have always only managed to catch a quick shot now and then during usually hurried short trips there for the last 26 years. This one was a particular stunning sight as the golden pink dusk settled in over the dark silhouette of the mountains and the new moon was sharply visible in the sky as bright as the headlights of drivers making their way across the bridge. As the monumental structures bridged the cities across the bay, the moon and dusk bridged the ending day and coming night.

The End (Of Day At) The End (Of 2012 At Montauk) The End - IMRAN™
The End (Of Day At) The End (Of 2012 At Montauk) The End - IMRAN™ -- (SOOC), a photo by ImranAnwar on Flickr.
SOOC Image Straight Out Of Camera!! NO editing, tweaking, or color processing of ANY kind. Only framed & titled in Photoshop..
There were few who were not impacted by the (few) ups and (many) downs of the last few years.
As 2012 drew to a close, by the grace of God, it appeared that the number of ups was up, the number of downs counting down, like the hours, and minutes, to the end of the year.
Though the global economy, the nation, and my own personal challenges had not fully come back from the edge of the (fiscal) cliffs, there was a sense of optimism I felt like a soft but unsure sigh of relief the world wanted to let out.
Even though 2012 had proven to be a year of uncertainty initially, for the most part it seemed to be the year that also brought a turnaround, in the economy, in hope, in life, and in love. But, all in all, poor 2012 was lumped more with the terrible years of 2009-2011 that brought so much devastation and sorrow to so many.
It was then so poetically ironic to take this picture, with a very special someone coming into my life, as many new goals, destinations, and dreams also started coming back into view, as we stood, in the freezing cold wind at Montauk (meaning "The End" in native American languages, at the Eastern tip of Long Island and New York), as the cold day, and a warming but still cold year started to disappear from view….
It was the beginning (of beautiful new times) and the beginning of The End (Of Day At) The End (Of 2012 At Montauk) The End !
Happy New Year, my friends, and may 2013 bring good fortune, love, life, health, prosperity and peace to all. Amen.

Bursting Heart On Fire - IMRAN™
4th of July Fireworks at Watch Hill & Davis Park, opposite my beach on the Great South Bay, Heron Pointe, East Patchogue, New York. I am sure the plan was not to have these fireworks (shot over 15 seconds) to make the shape of a heart like this photo, but this is what it came out as.

Daze, End At Day's End
In Explore, July 28, 2010! SOOC Image Straight Out Of Camera!! NO editing, sharpening, tweaking, of ANY kind. (Only frame and titles added in Photoshop). Just a 5MB JPG from the Nikon D300 at 1/640 seconds 450 mm eq zoom −1.3eV handheld shot.
Photographed at literally the same spot as the previous fireworks shot.
Taken on a winter day of 30-50 miles per hour winds, that brought with them wind chills on top of the cold weather moving through. But what the wind brought in coldness, it took away in pollution from the air.
I braved the wind to walk out onto the beach at my home in East Patchogue and catch the most amazing sunset colors --- made more spectacular by the clarity of the air.
That is Robert Moses Causeway Bridge, literally 17.23 MILES (27+ km) from where I stood and took the picture on my beach.
On a clear day you can see forever.
On clear nights you can see eternity.
On a windy blustery day, you can see
From nearby beach to far distant sea
How magic of sunsets, cold, wintry,
Flows with time, light, like a river.
Bold dreams, clear visions, no haze
From start of daze to end of days.

Orion's Belt Over Nebulous New York Times
On A Starry Night Calm Orion's Belt Wraps An Eternal Eye Over Nebulous Tumultuous New York Times
It is appropriate that the photo I took after catching the glittering skyline of earth's shining star, Manhattan, and the stars of Broadway and Times Square, is a timeless shot of the stars lining the sky. (See larger size to make out details of nebula, etc. )
They were beyond my grasp but it is just who we are, needing to reach for the stars, across the reaches of time, the vastness of eternity. So, I caught them, the cold cruel burning cores of Hydrogen, for me and you for today, and for forever etched onto the Silicon atoms of my camera's memory ... and the infinite neurons making up my memories in this so finite life.
The sky was particularly dark on this moonless night tonight. There was moisture in the air as a Southern wind was riding the Great South Bay, churning the water onto the beach in tumultuous waves of passion.
Far above, silently watching, the stars burnt in an amazing range of colors you could make out with the naked eye. Even the nebullae visible told their nebulous stories in clear thundering silence. I bowed in prayer, a murmur of thanks, to God, for having allowed me this moment to have lived, witnessed, experienced.

I was able to capture this shot with the Nikon D300 with no filters. This picture is as it was taken. See in full size in ALL SIZES if you see the button above.

Unrequited Love by Imran Anwar
You can almost reach out and touch the moon and run your fingers gently on her aging, aged, ageless but scarred face, where times, and passing suitors it disdained, left their marks, with you, the reader, wondering if a gentle tear from a secret subterrainian river will gush forth, as it silently tells the story of its endless, eternal, inescapable love for the blue planet it is forever intertwined with, but desinted never to meet, lest it be a deadly last waltz that would spell doom for both, in a deadly one night stand, a flash of explsoive passion, with the earth's oceans of life-giving liquids gushing forth into the skies, escaping into a climax of everything and a vast nothingness at once... such is the eternal dance of unrequited love of star crossed lovers and planets and moons. Feel it.
