I’ve appreciated Sting’s talent, lyrics, and music since the start. In 1980 Police songs like Don’t Stand So Close To Me made me love the band and artist. Over the years, Sting’s solo later year songs have become even more special to me. Desert Rose and The Book Of My Life are masterpieces I can’t get enough of for their resonance with my soul. Yet, I had not been to any of their concerts in the half century I’ve gotten to love these performers’ songs and talent more and more. Meanwhile, I’ve called Tampa Bay home for a dozen years but had never made it to Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play. Finally, I had a hat-trick or triple-play of firsts. What fun to see both legends, Billy Joel and Sting, do a joint concert in Tampa, Florida Saturday night, 02/24/24, at the Bucs stadium. I had made reservations months ago. It was quite cold tonight, putting me in a New York State Of Mind. On top of it being a clear night, it was all happening live under a full moon.
