And yet, I remain deeply grateful for a journey far richer than anything I could ever claim to deserve. Flying — flying on my birthday — celebrating a birthday in two cities, even better in two hometowns, is a blessing beyond anything a dream life could demand. To be alive, to walk, talk, read, think, and create without depending on anyone… that is the greater gift. To do all of that in a single day is its own quiet miracle, no matter what storms one may be navigating. Delta’s always‑excellent beef dinner in Seat 1A becomes more than a treat; it becomes a bonus chapter. Especially on a birthday flight from Tampa to New York, as spring yields to summer and the incredible past gives way to whatever the future still holds.
