I just don't get it.
We have a President who proudly admits to NOT reading newspapers - or maybe anything. When asked, he had been unable to recall if he had made any mistakes. We have a Vice President who insists that EVERY TV in any hotel room he stays at must ALREADY be turned to Fox News Channel. He is the one who SHOT a hunting buddy in the FACE, but did not consider it a big deal, or a mistake, not to tell the public, and letting someone else tell a small local paper about it in the middle of nowhere.
We have Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, on whose watch we were ATTACKED and who has mismanaged TWO Wars we chose to start.
In Afghanistan, American troops are dying to this day, the Taliban are coming back to actually mount attacks on US bases AND on aid workers and politicians... Heroin production is back in full force, most of it headed our way, while Osama Bin Laden rests in his hideout planning the next attack. In Iraq, a war we had no business starting, things are so bad that a recently released journalist kidnapped by insurgents actually praised the insurgents in their fight against America! Our generals say we did not have enough troops there. Our soldiers say they do not have enough body armor there. Our friends say we do not have any sense of direction there.... yet Rumsfeld sees no mistakes having been made there.
So, imagine this. Now Condoleeza Rice, our incompetent Secretary of State, with delusions of becoming President some day, has just admitted to THOUSANDS of errors the Bush administration has made in Iraq. Think about it folks, she admits to THOUSANDS of errors - in just ONE country and war. But, she still says we did the right thing. That is like saying "We made thousands of mistakes, but we are not wrong!"
You know, call me old fashioned, but there used to be a time when people would not only admit to their mistakes, but then take responsibility of them. At the very least they would resign or step down. But, that is not the case with our people in government these days. There is not one thing that cannot be put into the public relations spin machine to make them come out looking like shiny brand new warriors ready to start new wars, in hunting for weapons of more mass destruction in Iran or Syria while North Korea and Israel openly have the weaponry.
Don't get me wrong. I do not expect our politicians to be so overly honorable as the Japanese, where a Minister of Railways will commit SUICIDE in shame for ONE major train accident even if it was not his or her fault. I know, it would be wishful thinking to see any of our cabinet members to even fall off their chair - much less fall on their swords. There are plenty of Republicans and Bush loving people, who also probably do not read newspapers or listen to radio and TV to hear is actually going on around the world, who feel there is no problem with the way our country is being led from one disaster to another. And they consider themselves as having values that so-called liberals do not have.
Yet, even to them, Competence, responsibility and stepping down for your mistakes are so, old fashioned - just like the Constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper to George Bush!
The only thing that amazes me more than the blind support pro-Bush people have for his incompetent team, is the total absence and silence of the Democrats.
If anything, they seem to be even more blindly stumbling around trying to figure out WHAT they stand for anymore. Kerry was for the war before he was against it. Hilary Clinton is moving so rightwards on the political highway that she could hit the median any time now.
Everyone wants to talk about defending America but no one wants to take strong action to tighten our borders, to put our priorities where they serve AMERICA rather than our vote-seeking politicians who ARE selling their their souls just to win elections.
It's almost enough for me to wish for totally fresh new blood in the White House.
Maybe it is time for us to get a whole new type of government. Instead of an guy acting as President, I'd rather have an Acting President. Instead of a truth-mis-filing cabinet, I'd rather have a Fil(m)ing Cabinet.
Maybe we can elect George Clooney President, and Geena Davis as Vice President. Get the Dixie Chicks responsible for Department of the Interior. I would appoint the devilishly angelic Angelina Jolie as Secretary of State and, though I don't really consider him even an actor, Steven Segal can be head of Homeland Security. I would give the CIA to Charlie Sheen to get to the bottom of what really happened and happens. And let's make the beautiful and intelligent Charlize Theron our Ambassador to the United Nations. Finally, I would split the Department of Defense into a Department of Defense and a Department of War and split the work between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rambo....
Even without a script, I can bet you, these people would run our country better than the Republicans or the Democrats are doing at present. What do you think? Who else should be in this new A-Team!

And This Is The Good News...?
First the good news. It appears that the Afghanistani court and government will spare the life of an Afghan who converted from Islam to Christianity. I am glad he packed up and got out of there in a hurry, before the so-called defenders of Islam and bloodthirsty illiterate Afghan populace tore him to pieces.
We do not have time to go into the topic of how little progress in real democracy and EDUCATION has been made in Afghanistan under President Bush and his friends in Kabul, and how democracy has taken a backseat in countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, where we keep dictators in power.
Much more importantly, I have been asked by several people about the Islamic legal issue this case was about. Why can Muslims expect others to convert to Islam but threaten to kill Muslims who go the other way.
Quite frankly, like many of the so-called islamic laws that my fellow Muslims shout and scream about, that do not specifically relate to faith in One God, and being better human beings, these rules were set up specifically for circumstances that were applicable 1400 years ago and have no place in society today, American or Islamic.
Back in the earliest days of Islam many heathen Arabs saw Islam as a threat to their political influence and wanted to weaken it. They would announce conversion TO Islam, stay for a short period of time, and then publicly announce they found it useless and were leaving it.
Obviously, the goal for them was to cause potential converts to weaken in their desire for Islam. At that time, the law was made that if you BECAME a Muslim and then left the religion, you could be killed. The idea was to discourage the deliberate fake-converts from damaging the fledgling religion.
That, folks, was 1400 years ago when there were a few hundred Muslims. Today, Islam is 1.3 BILLION people. It is the second largest religion in the world, and the fastest growing one, worldwide and in America. Actually, it would grow even faster, if so many idiotic Muslims would not be blowing themselves and other Muslims up.
So, I tell my fellow Muslims.... wake up, and smell the TNT. We do not need this stone age law to "protect" Islam. What we need to protect Islam from is not the one or one hundred who would convert from Islam to Christianity, but from the thousands of so-called Muslims killing themselves and others around the globe.
And, considering that most of those wanting to kill others are the worst examples of Muslims, who produce or sell drugs, smuggle weapons, steal poperty from others, even build mosques on stolen land.... I think we would be hard pressed to find a single perfect Muslim who is worthy of telling someone else that they are not good Muslims.
Another interesting news item just came across the wire. As you know, Zaccharias Moussavi, the self-admitted member of Al-Qaeda is on trial for the 9/11 conspiracy.
It is quite shameful that despite almost 5 years going by, he is the ONLY person our government has been able to find to prosecute.
While our President hugs and kisses the King of Saudi Arabia, from where 17 out of 19 hijackers came, we have lost 2400 more American lives and more than 100,000 Iraqis are dead, because George W. Bush started an illegal war based on lies, that only enriched Haliburton and Dick Cheney's friends.
Putting that aside, even in Moussavi's trial the Justice department lawyers have been caught breaking the law, lying and cheating making our system of justice look like a joke to the world.
The only saving grace is that this guy Moussavi seems hell-bent on dying. First he said he had nothing to do with 9/11, and now he says he was part of the plan to fly a fifth plane into a building. You know what, that is enough of a fair trial as far as I am concerned.
If the guy insists he was part of the 9/11 conspiracy, let's be done with it. Let's put him in front of a firing squad and let's get busy forcing Bush his neo-con cronies to get us out of Iraq and hunting for the real killer, of 9/11, Bin Laden and his team.
The third news item that caught my eyes is the WORSENING situation in Iraq.
Literally 3 years ago I was on Fox News Channel's The O'reilly Factor, and when I said US troops would be stuck there for YEARS, the host was surprised I would think that. Now President Bush has said it is even worse than that .... and FUTURE PRESIDENTS may have to decide when to get out of Iraq.... we will discuss that in a future episode of In My Humble Opinion... this is Imran Anwar, signing off.

Why Bush Gave Nuclear Technology To India
President Bush has sided with India and chosen to provide it nuclear technology for several important reasons.
1. India always sides with the Russians in the past, with Iran these days, and against the USA in global forums. How better to win over new friends than to give them nukes?
2. India needs to lower the cost of energy so it can have even lower wages to steal even more American jobs.
3. Pakistan does not need to be given any help in meeting its energy needs. They can use American flags and Bush rag dolls to burn for heating and energy.
4. Pakistan does not need to be kept happy, it's not like Bin Laden likes them or anything either.
5. It is NEVER enough to have long term threats like Russia and China with their own nuclear weapons in that part of the world. Good things come in threes, so we must help India become a bigger nuclear competitor and threat to us 10 years from now.
6. Clinton got to dance with so many Indian girls, now it is Bush' turn to get some. Damn Pakistanis don't let their girls dance with American Presidents.
7. What's the point of giving economic aid to 150 million Pakistanis when we can buy one dictator Musharraf?
8. Why help Pakistanis create new jobs by giving them free trade status. Who will we show in news videos as a threat to America if all those bearded Pakistanis burning KFC and McDonalds' actually got jobs?
Any more reasons you can think of? Let me know.
