Unfortunately, high winds uprooted the plant while I was in NY and it dried and died. (No edit. Straight out of camera iPhone 17 Pro Max shot.)

GSD K2 Sunning Stunning Shaded Saturday Seaside Tampa Bay Florida - IMRAN®

A spectacular, spring‑summer–like late‑January Saturday on Tampa Bay, glowing at 81°F while the rest of the country shivers. Quite a contrast to what my New York home will face tomorrow… a brutal –14°C / 7°F even before the wind chill joins the party.

K2, meanwhile, embodies that perfect German Shepherd balance: relaxed yet alert, soaking in the sun and shade as one of the many boats glided past on the water this afternoon.

Oh, Deer!🦌😂 Backyard Wildlife Scandal Alert - IMRAN®

Oh, Deer!🦌😂 Backyard Wildlife Scandal Alert - IMRAN®

After 30 years of watching the same brown‑coat deer families stroll through my backyard like they own the place, this mystery guest shows up. Albino? Secret love child? Did mama deer step out on the herd? The neighborhood wildlife gossip is out of control already 😂

But the truth is even cooler: she's a piebald deer, the result of a rare recessive gene that only shows up when both parents quietly carry it. They can pass that gene down for generations without anyone ever seeing a single white patch. Then suddenly—boom—two carriers mate, and nature rolls the genetic dice.

That's why this is the first time in three decades I've ever seen one here. The gene has probably been hiding in the local herd all along, waiting for the right pairing. Piebald deer make up less than 1% of the population, so spotting one in ny own literal backyard is basically winning the wildlife lottery.

So no scandal after all… just a rare, beautiful genetic surprise wandering through my yard like she's making a cameo in a nature documentary. Or an ad for Ancestry or Sequencing dot com. 😄

Microsoft Doing Today What My EverTrac/CA Colleagues & I Did 25+ Years Ago! - IMRAN®

Microsoft Doing Today What My EverTrac/CA Colleagues & I Did 25+ Years Ago! - IMRAN®
Delighted to see Judson Althoff's news announcement today about Microsoft partnering with F1. In my comment, I shared the history of EverTrac and CA Inc.  in a full‑circle moment for me.
Twenty‑five plus years ago, EverTrac — together with our CA colleagues — built the real‑time moving‑map and agentic systems‑performance monitoring and management platform for the 1999–2000 F1 Championship‑winning Mercedes-Benz ‑ McLaren Racing team. And the moving maps were six years before Google Maps even existed. 😊 What shall we manage to drive next? 😉

A Decade‑Long Journey — Photo, Words, Music, Song (2015–2026) — IMRAN®

I have been blessed to witness so many beautiful sights and live through such powerful experiences — moments that inspired me to capture award‑winning photos, write moving poetry, and, when time allowed, shape those words into music… and if fortune smiled, into a full song, perhaps even a music video one day.

Like so many of us, I've often found that time is the one thing that keeps us from doing everything our hearts are called to do. The work of life kept me from the life's work I am truly driven to pursue — to live, even as ordinary a man as I am, up to the unlimited, God‑given potential within me.

This project is one example. I captured this sunset after a storm at my blessed home on Tampa Bay, in Apollo Beach. I was facing a difficult moment in life then, so the image felt as symbolic as it was real. Even in the darkest times, my gratitude for all I've been given, my faith that the best days are still ahead, and my nature — full of love,, passion, and desire — moved me to write the accompanying words as I posted the photo that same evening: June 12, 2015.

It took a full decade before I finally had the time to begin setting those words to music, in late 2025, during another complex chapter of life. And now, as January 21, 2026 comes to a close, I am close to completing the full song born from that poem written more than ten years ago.

"(Come With Me… At) Sunset After The Storm" is on track to be released as a single on the IMRAN® & Quantum Lair label in the next couple of weeks on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms.

Thank you — my family, friends, and fans — for your love, your care, and your attention to the things I create and share with you.

Old Is Gold, Gold Old & New New York Stuff Of Life — IMRAN®

Old Is Gold, Gold Old & New New York Stuff Of Life — IMRAN®

One, I've always taken care of my things. Two, over the years I bought enough clothes that nothing ever got worn out. Three, companies really used to make higher‑quality products — especially clothing.

This Tommy Hilfiger jacket is still one of my absolute favorites. Back when TH had bold, unique designs and color combinations. Hard to believe it's from the winter of 1992–1993 bought at Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan.

The Polo Ralph Lauren shirt I'm wearing is also from 1993. In all these decades, it's only lost one tiny collar button… which I still haven't gotten around to replacing.

The plant and decorative planter behind me? From 1995.And me? Well, I'm from three decades before all of those.

Only the iPhone 17 Pro Max is from 2025 — because I still love having the latest tools and gadgets in my hands.

But above everything else, the family, home, and health that God has blessed me with remain the most precious treasures of all.

LIRR Jamaica Station On a Brutally Cold, Windy Day — IMRAN®

I'm sure it would've been far nicer to be on THE island of Jamaica (where I still haven't been!) than at THIS (Long) Island's Jamaica railroad station on a brutally cold, windy day last week. And with temperatures plunging to –14°C / 7°F since then, commuting this week must've been even worse for everyone braving those platforms.

Going For A Spin, Without Getting In A Spin — IMRAN®

Going For A Spin, Without Getting In A Spin — IMRAN®

Being a New Yorker since the late 1980s, I love the beauty of snow but have always hated driving in it — especially because I've been blessed with rear‑wheel‑drive European high‑performance cars.

Snowy roads, regular high‑speed tyres, and a V12 engine are a white‑knuckle combination on sloping roads. And after spending most of the last dozen years in Florida, driving in snow wasn't even a passing thought.

Over the years I've had several nearly fatal highway incidents. Once, my Benz spun three full times on an interstate in Maryland during a blizzard around 1995-1996 after a careless driver lost control, forcing me to gently swerve — which then sent me sliding across two lanes, barely missing a speeding 18‑wheeler. A miracle.

It's mind-boggling how drivers of AWD vehicles think the laws of physics and loss of friction don't apply to them. In 1997, an oncoming SUV speeding through snow lost control, forcing me to swerve again — and somehow recover without hitting anything.

And then there was the time after the snow had supposedly "gone," when the roads were dry and I let my guard down. Around 1999, I was taking the on‑ramp from Nichols Road in Suffolk County onto the Long Island Expressway service lane.

At the sharpest part of the turn, the "dry" road suddenly revealed a massive slab of snow — almost certainly dropped from the roof of some lazy b*stard who couldn't be bothered to clear their car before leaving home.

One moment I had perfect Pirelli grip on dry asphalt; the next, all four wheels hit that hidden blanket of snow and I was instantly spun. Not through any skill — purely by miracle — I rotated off the ramp and across the two main lanes of the service road without touching a single car, curb, or going over the railing on the elevated section over Nichols Road.

Every one of these moments taught me priceless lessons I keep in mind. And each of them also gets added to my autobiography-in-memory… The Miracles Of My Life.

So even though the SUV in this photo is obviously all‑wheel‑drive — as are many newer vehicles — I still wanted to retain my touch-and-feel for driving in snow. Sunday night was perfect: almost no one on the roads in Eastern Suffolk County near my blessed home.

So I went for a spin… thankfully without getting into a spin.

Life Reflections At Last Sunrise Of 2024, Flying Over Odessa — Tampa To New York - IMRAN®

Life Reflections At Last Sunrise Of 2024, Flying Over Odessa — Tampa To New York - IMRAN®

The final days of 2024 were a blur of miles, moments, memories, and motion. On Christmas Day, I pointed my car south and drove 1,212 miles from my Long Island home to Apollo Beach, with K2 — my loyal German Shepherd co‑pilot — stretched out in the back, watching the world roll by.

Barely a week later, before dawn on December 31, I was back in the air. Delta carried me from Tampa International Airport toward New York's JFK, lifting off just as the last sunrise of the year began to paint the sky.

Somewhere north of Tampa, the last morning's first sunlight broke through the clouds over a region I'd never even heard of: the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park. From above, hidden by an unbroken aerial carpet of cloud cover, it lay tucked between places with names that sound like they were chosen by poets — Odessa, Trinity, River Ridge, Moon Lake.

The under‑appreciated gifts of ubiquitous GPS and internet access, even high in the sky, I thought to myself. A quiet wilderness greeting the final sunrise of a loud, relentless year.

A fleeting moment, a new discovery, and the sky reminding me — again — why I have flown in a window seat all my life since my first flight as a 7‑year‑old in Pakistan. And why I never stop looking out the window at what each new morning, mile, month, and year unfolds in my journey on Earth and through the universe's space and time.

Thank you — again — God Almighty.

Reflected Code Warrior IA Reflecting On CodeWarrior In Era Of AI - IMRAN® (Anwar.rior)

Reflected Code Warrior IA Reflecting On CodeWarrior In Era Of AI - IMRAN® (Anwar.rior)

Reflected Code Warrior IA Reflecting On CodeWarrior In Era Of AI - IMRAN® (Anwar.rior)

I'd been waging war on some technical challenges all night while working on an AI cloud‑services programming project. After a shower, I grabbed a random T‑shirt — and was pleasantly surprised to find myself holding a relic from the early days of modern software development.

It instantly made me reflect (literally? 😉) on the journey.

Wearing my vintage CodeWarrior T‑shirt today is a nod to one of the most important developer tools of the classic Mac era.

For my fellow geeks who remember: Metrowerks, founded in 1985 (right after I earned my Electrical Engineering degree in Lahore, Pakistan), built CodeWarrior and later helped Apple navigate some of its most challenging years.

When Apple shifted from the Motorola 68000 CPUs to the new PowerPC chips, CodeWarrior became the development platform — fast, modern, and miles ahead of the older tools.

The first commercial release shipped in 1994, right around the time I was running my tech and media business in Manhattan — while this blessed Long Island home I'm standing in was being built for me.

Time flies. I've crossed the 30‑year mark of living here, and of using a product that shaped an entire generation of Mac developers.

Amazing how a simple T‑shirt can bring back an entire era of innovation, transition, and the scrappy companies that kept the platform alive.

That's AI‑using IA — code warrior Imran Anwar(rior) reflected — reflecting on CodeWarrior.

Time/Flies In/Flight Leg/Room En/Route On/ScreenFinal/Destination - IMRAN®

Time flies. Delta Tampa to New York early morning flight. Marking a milestone and memory. Took the same descent path over open water of the Atlantic Ocean to final approach for landing at JFK as my flight exactly 37 years ago.

(I)[still] belong to the (New York) City, and Manhattan remains my forever American hometown.

So much has happened. Unlike the song lyrics, everything's changed. Except my sense of gratitude and appreciation for the miracles of my life.

Blessed beyond belief. Thank you, God.

Well, HALO There - IMRAN®

Well, HALO There - IMRAN®

I don't play video games like HALO nor do the religious images with supposed halos painted around religious figures mean anything to me. But, hey, if a random selfie at my blessed New York home aligns the sunlight behind my head — and even the wispy clouds seem to blend with what's left of my hair blowing in the cold breeze — who am I to complain. I say, "Well, HALO there!"

Thought For Food: Healthy & Actually Tasty Concoction — IMRAN®

Thought For Food: Healthy & Actually Tasty Concoction — IMRAN®

Since childhood I’ve had an unfair reputation for “hating all vegetables.” Sure, I love meats far more than anything else, but I only ever despised a few specific veggies — hardly grounds for a lifelong label.

I never became anyone’s role model for healthy eating, especially as a HappilySingle™ guy with zero patience for real cooking. (If it isn’t grilling or an air fryer, it isn’t happening.) But every now and then I manage to whip up something not quite dude-healthy, but definitely healthier than my usual choices.

Today’s creation: a Caesar salad massively upgraded with chopped red onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, sliced squares of barbecue chicken, cheese, and almonds. Shockingly delicious. And actually filling — none of that “I had a salad an hour ago and now I’m starving again” nonsense. I was out of cashews and raisins, which I usually toss into these mélanges, but this still hit the spot.

What’s your go‑to meal when you’re trying to eat healthy without sacrificing taste?
